Q. Will it last?
A. YES. Acrylic is the highest quality material used in bathtub products. It has a 30-40 year life expectancy.

Q. How long are Luxury Bath Systems warranted?
A. Luxury Bath Systems warrants Luxsan® acrylic bath surfaces for the lifetime of the product, against any defects in materials and workmanship. Luxury further warrants for this same period, the surface will not fade, yellow, crack, bubble or peel under normal use when cared for under the guidelines set forth by Luxury Bath Systems.

Q. What if the acrylic surface is scratched or marred, can it be repaired?
A. Because Luxury’s acrylic is a renewable surface, most surface defects can be easily buffed out and restored to its original luster. Luxury offers a repair kit so most homeowners can do it themselves.

Q. I’ve never head of anything like this. Is this something new?
A. NO. Tubliners are not new, but Luxury Bath Systems is the exclusive distributor of Luxsan® anti-microbial acrylic baths.

Q. Is it easy to clean?
A. YES. Acrylic is a non-porous material. Unlike fiberglass or porcelain, it doesn’t collect soap scum and dirt. It is the easiest cleaning surface known today in bathtub products.

Q. What should I use to clean and maintain the acrylic?
A. Luxury recommends the use of mild soap and water with a soft washcloth. Dish soap such as Joy, Dawn, or Ivory, will act effectively as an everyday cleaner on our surfaces. Vinegar with water may also be used to soften water minerals. If the customer requires a disinfectant, they may use straight Clorox bleach and water to sanitize the enclosure. Always rinse thoroughly after cleaning.

Q. Does it stain easily?
A. NO. Luxury Bath Systems with Luxan® and Microban® acrylic bathtub walls and liners are highly stain resistant.

Q. Can you do anything about my walls?
A. YES. We can custom fit our acrylic wall system with the same beauty and quality as the acrylic tub.

Q. How is the Luxury Bath System installed and will it make my bath area smaller?
A. Luxury Bath tubliners are installed directly over your existing tub using our proprietary Lux-Bond adhesive that fills in the spaces and air pockets between the tubs. It then hardens like a rock for a permanent fit. A new drain and overflow are also installed with the tubliner along with a silicone gasket for a watertight seal. The walls are installed right over tile, drywall or any substrate that is structurally sound. Due to a custom fit over your existing bath fixtures, you will only lose 1/4" in your enclosure which will not even be noticeable.

Q. Will the Luxury Bathtub liner go over any type of bathtub?
A. Luxury bathtub liners can accommodate just about any size tub including 4 ½’, standard 5 foot, and 5 ½’ oversized tubs. Luxury tubliners must have the support of a steel or cast iron tub. Unfortunately, we can not install liners over fiberglass, claw foot, or whirlpool tubs. We can however, remove those fixtures and install and acrylic replacement tub, acrylic shower pan, or jetted bathtub.

Q. Can I add a shower to my tub?
A. YES, if acrylic walls are added.

Q. What if I have a window in the middle of my enclosure, how do you work around that?
A. The installer would simply cut out a hole in the wall panel to accommodate the window and then install a custom window trim kit with a sill to provide a fit and finished look. All window trim is formed from low-maintenance acrylic so it will never rust, warp, or mildew.

Q. Is the tub bottom slippery?
A. NO. A slip resistant bottom is standard on all of our bathtubs and shower pans.

Q. Can a one-piece fiberglass tub be replaced?
A. YES. We have a system to do this.
Q. Do I have to take down any ceramic tile?
A. NO. We can cover existing ceramic tile with acrylic, but we do remove any wet, loose, moldy, or defective areas and bring your walls up to standard. This way we are not covering any walls that are not structurally sound.

Q. Why don’t I just refinish my old tub?
A. Refinishing is only a paint job that is very fragile and lasts only a few years at best. Refinishing also requires delicate care.

Q. Why does it cost so much to tear out and replace an old bathtub?
A. It is costly because your must tear the room apart back to the wall studs. You lose your wall system and your plaster or dry wall. Both must be replaced. All of your plumbing must also be redone. Your floor will need to be replaced, and your vanity and commode will need to be removed and reinstalled. This is very labor intensive, and it takes about 7 to 10 days to complete, with considerable dust, dirt and mess. Also, several specialty contractors will be required including plumbers, carpenters, tile installers, electricians and drywall technicians.

Q. How much does an average Luxury Bath System cost?
A. Every bathroom is different and it is impossible to give you a fair quote without seeing the enclosure and selecting the colors and accessories. We prefer to give a free, no obligation, in-home estimate that will be more accurate. In any case, an investment in a Luxury Bath System will be a fraction of the cost of a conventional tear-out and replacement.
